Weddings VS Family Portraits…
Which one is easier to shoot? Honestly, its Weddings.
Potraiture with families is really an art. When its really hot and humid and you are working with 20 people and very small children who are not used to posing and smiling for a photographer, I had to try every trick in the book and after a hour and a half and over 100 shots I finally captured a few images of this group with all the little ones looking at my lens. I was soaking wet from the heat and thought my head was going to explode it was so hot. The great thing is the adults turned on the smiles instantly when I said lets shoot… and from the session know one would ever know how hot it was or uncomfortable we all were. The finished product is all that counts, and my family here was so sweet and fun to work with that I felt like family around them.
Here are just a few images from yesturday, still working on all the individual family shots this morning before church. My last family took a dip in the pool….crazy style water dipping as you can see!

It was Paradise Friday Evening.
Yes it was Paradise Friday evening…. Paradise Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California and the wedding of Skyler and Cory Bellmore and sixty of their guests. With a temp of 110 degrees the outdoor ceremony was only 7 minutes long, then it was back inside the comfortable air conditioned ballroom. It didn’t take long for a small breeze and the temp to go down outside, then we golf carted out on the greens to capture some beautiful photos of my newlyweds. More to come later his week.

Scouting today a shoot for next April in Alemeda
We’re off to Alemeda, California this morning to check out the USS Hornet, which is where one of my clients is throwing a 80th Birthday Party for her husband next April. Sounds a little early to be checking out a site, but this is one huge party and when you are working for one of the most influential families of San Francisco, you have to get it all done right away for them. The USS Hornet has some really wonderful history you should all check out at www.uss-hornet.org
Nothing like having your party on a US aircraft carrier!
