This was a really sweet wedding with 45 guests in the hills of Rocklin, California at the Whitney Oaks Golf & Country Club on Sunday. The groom Johnny is a U.S. Marine and will only be here for two more weeks then its back to Iraq while his new Russian Bride Margarita gets there home in Roseville all in order and ready when he comes home soon in the future. I was seated at the brides parents table which was a little odd for me, but thats where the Bride wanted me to be, only problem is that everyone seated were all speaking Russian and I felt a little left out. I’ll say this…they love to party! Here are some images from the wedding, and if it looks hot outside, oh ya…it was in the 90′s and we had no breeze just the hot sun beating down on all of us.
The words CHP and that Red Light in the rear view window usually gets me nervous and upset, why? Because I’m usually speeding!! This time I was happy to be in the company of a very gracious and wonderful group of officers and families.
This time CHP stands for CHERISH, HONOR AND PROTECT. It was the wedding of Kacey and Greg Ramos in Benicia,California. Talk about beautiful, I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves all 2,500 of them…these are just a few from last night.
When Jenna Bush got married earlier this year you would think that the President of the United States would have used a professional photographer…nope, an intern at the White House shot the wedding. The young woman who photographed the wedding did an ok job, but I’m sure now Jenna wished she had a seasoned pro who shoots weddings for a living photograph her day so she would have beautiful images, insted of just ordinary plain snapshots such as these above with no flash and shadows where their eyes are. Mr. President, with all your oil money, how come you were so cheap?!
Don’t let a friend shoot your wedding, and don’t hire someone just because they’re cheap. This is one time that every bride needs a true professional with the skills and years of knowledge to capture the day to be enjoyied for generations to come. Remember, you cannot create your day again, there is only one take, no do-overs.
I love this next entry in my blog. From time to time I have client’s email me, send photos of there new Babies or new homes and just want to say hi and keep in touch. This couple today was a blast a year ago. We went and shot everywhere for them from the re-hearsal and dinner to a non-stop Las Vegas engagemnet shoot , then to Catta Verdera Country Club for their beautiful wedding and reception. This is the email I just received this morning from Chris the groom. Thanks Chris! I miss you two!!!
Randy Licht!
How the heck are you? Hopefully this summer has kept your sufficiently busy with work. From the looks of your website it appears that it has.
We just got back from guess where? That’s right…Las Vegas. Since our trip there with you we’ve gone back for my bachelor party, one of Erin’s conferences for work, our first anniversary, and last weekend because the Venetian wanted us back so much they gave us three free nights with additional rooms for 25% of normal…so we also brought Erin’s brother (which was a complete surprise to her) and some of her friends.
Anyhow, after Erin’s brother surprised her with his arrival in the porte cochere since he wasn’t my friends who decided to come last minute at 1130 pm on a Friday night, we ran into an old familiar face…we immediately thought of trip there with you and of the picture below, and decided that we had to take a picture and sent it to you!
So here it is with us in almost the exact same spot! Not nearly as good as yours, but pretty darn cool if you ask us that the same accordionist from nearly 2 years ago is still squeezing away in the Venetian lobby, and we were able to take a picture with him!
Hope all is well…stay in touch!

I just came across a great new company who makes these one of a kind custom press printed wedding books, unlike anything in the marketplace. You should check them out. The company is located in Texas. Super thick laminated pages similar to the Italian line we all know about , but these are totaly different. They also do complete color correction on all images for free. Ask for Jay. Tell him Randy sent you.

Zack Braff and Donald Faison from “Scrubbs” on ABC Television
When I need to relax I watch a comedy on TV and I really love this strange, weird, off color at times, goofy show called “Scrubbs”. When I first watched just a few minutes of this show years ago, I went nah, boring doctor stuff. BIG MISTAKE! I should have just watched a few more seconds to realize how funny and entertaining this show is and what a talented crew, writers and directors they have! I started watching this year and after just one epidsode was hooked. The casting of ALL the talent is amazing and everyone just clicks with each other like a huge disfunctional family, you’ve got to love this stuff. Life is so serious at times and on the show they show us how quickly life can pass and how quickly it can be saved. The pairing of Zach Braff and his side kick co-star Donald Faison is like magic. The two of them are like children one second, girlfriends the next and true buddies at the end. When you get a chance look up the show and watch it, you’ll be hooked like me.

We celebrated my wife’s Birthday by heading back to SF where we both grew up. I thought living in the Sacramento area was hot, now the Bay Area is starting to get temps like us. We started out at the beautiful Westgate San Francisco Center by visiting the Nordstrom store there. The mall is famous for having the worlds only spiral escalator that is 7 floors tall. You have to walk in circles to go up to each floor and after awhile you start to get dizzy! There is so much retail in this mall, it can drain your Visa card in a matter of minutes!!! Afterwards we drove down the Embarcadero to Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39 to the Hard Rock Cafe for a loud lunch, then walked it off on the pier with some window shopping, followed up by hitting the CHOCOLATE STORE! Oh yea baby, we are chocohalets! We had these dark chocolate coated heavy dipped peanut butter cookies to die for. Also we brought home a peanut butter cup, that I think weighs in around a 1/4 pound! Leaving the city this time we took the Golden gate Bridge and traffic was really lite for a saturday and we got home in time to relax and be with our dogs. All in all it was just a 7 hour getaway, but it felt like a week. Now its time to get ready for the next 8 weeks worth of weddings coming up, and some of them are going to be amazing. Until then everyone, take care.
