A Sacramento Wedding Can Save you $$$$
Compared to the San Francisco Bay Area, a wedding held in Sacramento will save you thousands of dollars from the caterer, DJ, Photographer you name it. More and more couple’s are discovering all that the States Capital has to offer. Less than a 2 hour drive from the SF peninsula you can have the wedding of your dreams. Even corporations are having more functions here too. Sacramento offers a beautiful old downtown with historic landmarks, amazing dining and shopping. Your guests will have so much to see and do while here its like a mini vacation and what a great getaway for a change. I encourage you to invite your out of town friends to come and visit, they wont be disappointed!

How are you going to look on your wedding day?
Yes, it’s the same young woman. Its amazing what a professional hair stylist and makeup artist can do. So many brides think they can do it themselves, and yes many of my brides have and looked beautiful, then there were some that really should have gone and taken the time and had it done professionally. Having shot over one thousand weddings in almost thirty years the best advice I can give a bride is to go find a stylist that will take the time to listen to you and try out a few ideas before the actual wedding and find a style you love. Keep your makeup simple, don’t over do it, you don’t need a lot, just some hints to highlight your facial features. Add some spectacular jewelry and you will be the Princess we all know and love!

We’re working on an all new web site and web presence coming in September!
I’ve had the name Borel Photography ever since the web was created and I’ve been thinking about another site offering a totally different look and feel for years. This site will have photography that excites people and will feature mostly my Lifestyle Photojournalistic Black and White and Sepia Tone images that I love so much. It will be more about capturing life as it happens and will be more on the cool and artistic side of wedding photography. We’ll be offering mostly Ala’ Carte coverage and will have an additional web site that everyone can view the images from a wedding for ordering.
Look for our new site coming soon! www.SacramentoWeddingStories.com

Whats Happening to Large Weddings?
Well, they’re still happening all over the country, but just not as many anymore. More couples are choosing destination weddings with a smaller amount of people and saving their money for a new home. I’m shooting more couples in Lake Tahoe with smaller more elegant affairs like some I did last year in San Francisco on board a yacht with only 50 guests and another in Carmel, California on Pebble Beach. Sure these weddings still cost quite a bit of money, but still not as much as back in the 90′s when my average wedding reception on the San Francisco peninsula was around 250-400 guests and the cost for a wedding back then was well over $100K.
Anyone can have a beautiful wedding and reception if its planned and thought out well. A professional wedding coordinator can help you and most likely end up saving you money in the long run.

California Cell Phone Law is a Joke!
Drivers have offered the following reasons for disobeying the new cell phone law:“I haven’t figured out how to use my Bluetooth yet!”“I was trying to find out if the volume was up on my phone because I couldn’t hear anything out of my Bluetooth.”“The fine is just a business expense. I’ll write it off.”“I just plain forgot about the law.”“I can’t stand that stupid ear piece.”“I have the Bluetooth but don’t know how to connect it to the phone.”“I had it on speaker.” (While still holding it in their hand.)“My Bluetooth doesn’t work. The battery is dead.”“I was waiting to get a ticket before I spend money on a Bluetooth.”“My wife said I sounded like I was in a toilet so I switched back to cell.”“I heard it was a second-offense thing and you cannot stop me just for talking.”“Is it not more of a hazard to fumble around trying to get the ear thing in?”“I wasn’t using my phone. I was just resting my head against it!”The Winner:
One driver, when spotted by a motorcycle officer, flipped his cell phone shut and acted as if he was using an electric shaver while driving!

Please Watch and Give What You Can This Year!
I’ve been involved with the MDA Association ever since I can remember as a child of 8 years old. This year more than ever we all need to give what we can. They’ve found so many cures for many of the nuro deasea’s and are so close to finding the cure for the remaining ones. Please watch and enjoy this years telethon with your family and friends.
God Bless, Randall Licht / Borel Photography
Watch the telethon this year on:
CA Sacramento KQCA 58 MyNetworkTV www.my58.com 6:00 PM PDT 3 “I’m truly honored to be joined by such an incredible team of all-stars willing to go all out in the fight against muscular dystrophy,” said MDA National Chairman and Telethon star Jerry Lewis. “The sheer weight of talent and professionalism these people bring to the show is sure to make this year’s Telethon a smashing success.”
The national Telethon will feature a steady stream of performances by top entertainers; updates on important research and medical advances in the battle against muscular dystrophy and related diseases; and video profiles and live interviews with individuals and families affected by those diseases.
The broadcast will originate from the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas beginning at 9 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Aug. 31, and ending 21½ hours later at 6:30 p.m. EDT, Sept. 1.
The show will be broadcast to nearly 40 million viewers in the United States and Canada by some 180 television stations comprising MDA’s “Love Network.” Millions more worldwide will be able to see the Telethon on the Internet via RealNetworks at mda.org. Check local listings for times and stations.
A new feature of this year’s broadcast is the Jerry Lewis Telethon Online Auction at www.mda.org/auctions. Starting Aug. 21, it features items donated by celebrities, MDA sponsors and other friends of the Association. Hundreds of items are up for bid in such categories as travel, unique experiences, electronics, golf, excursions, sports memorabilia and more. One section carries items from Harley-Davidson’s 105th anniversary celebration. The auction ends Sept. 4.
In 2007, pledges and donations to the MDA Telethon brought in a record $63.8 million.
MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat muscular dystrophy and related diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services and far-reaching professional and public health information.
The Association’s programs are funded almost entirely by individual private contributors. -
International Wedding Last Night
There are weddings where your guests and families all come from local areas and then there was Ashlee and Emecar’s wedding guest list that had family and friends from all over the world attending. From as far away as South Africa, Washington DC and beyond, they all traveled to see these two join hands and become one on August 2, 2008 in Sacramento California. The ceremony and reception were all held at the beautiful Radisson Hotel with the ceremony taking place on their lakefront gazebo. The reception was just as beautiful and the dinner served as wonderful. One thing about living in Sacramento is the food. Not only are there hundreds of restaurants here but the hotel chefs are amazing too. Last nights menu was Filet Mignon, CornSalsa Chicken, Grilled Salmon and about ten other side dishes. No wonder I can’t loose any weight, all these weddings dining on all these meals! Here is just a sampling from yesturdays photos, more to come later and a web show too!
