  • 9 Days till my beautiful Lake Tahoe Wedding!

    jaz

Andrea and Brians wedding is now only 9 days away and I can’t wait.

Their wedding will be right on the beach in South Shore with a beautiful reception following at Harveys Resort. With a 10 person wedding party and just over a hundred guests we are all go to party down! I was just informed that the bridesmaids dresses are a light pink and the groomsmen will be in sand colored suites, creme shirts and peach colored ties. Its starting to sound like a Santa Barbara theme to me. I am off tomorrow and will be shopping for some bamboo umbrellas to use for shots with the Bride and her girls, thought that would be fun!

I’ll be posting images and a web show from their wedding late afternoon on Monday 7-21-08, so come on back and enjoy the show.

  • Photographing in Oakland, Ca today.

I think corporate and event photography is so much easier than shooting a wedding. Its about capturing people, places and things. You’re pretty much on your own to capture with your camera the story of the day and not have to deal with all the other stuff, if you know what I mean. Today I was shooting a luncheon in Oakland, California at the McAfee Stadium, a fund raiser lunch for the SF Council of Boy Scouts. They raised over $50,000.00 for local scouting. Attending were some of the Bay Areas top CEO’s along with veteran television newsman Mark Curtis and our special guest speaker Bob Geren, the coach of the Oakland A’s.

Photo by my assistant Mike with one of my Nikon D300 cameras using a Nikon 10.1 f/2.8 Fisheye lens and the pop up flash. Not bad considering I hate my picture taken! Ha!

  • Exciting New Albums arrriving for 2009!

I’m always looking for new albums, more color choices and different styles. I just came accross a couple of brand new albums we are going to start offering and one that I am excited about is the Cinema Style Landscape Albums. Talk about different and unique, Brides and Grooms are going to love these!

With these new slip in albums I can shoot, edit, design, print, assemble and deliver a finished Forty Page book in just a week! These will be our all new economy albums that we’ll be carrying to offer those who might have a smaller budget. Still beautiful and made in the USA, with many colors, they are going to be a big hit. Arriving mid July 2008!

I still find the best way to reach clients is by direct mail. I hate getting solicitation phone calls myself and bridal show’s are like moving cattle from room to room and you just can’t show your work off to well in that kind of venue anymore. Sure postage is expensive and emailing is free, but getting a beautiful full color 2 sided postcard with my studios information on it gets it right in their hands.Throughout the year I have special offers for clients such as anyone who books a 2009 wedding with us receives a $50.00 gas gift card. I’m always coming up with newer ideas for clients in the form of photography styles, newer album choices and special savings. It comes down to customer service and thats what I pride myself in.
