    Drunk Newlyweds Tasered and Jailed

Ah, wedding night. A magical evening filled with frivolity and passion, and, evidently, non-lethal electrocution via taser.

    Sigh.

A Vallejo, California couple was thrown in jail on their wedding night after a house party was repeatedly broken up by police. Neighbors reported hearing loud music late into the night and the party eventually headed outside.

The groom, evidently overjoyed by the prospect of everlasting marital bliss, became a bit too animated for police. He was treated to a healthy dose of electrical current after he stripped off his shirt and advanced toward officers with balled up fists. He got tasered. On his wedding night. Well played, sir.

Not to be outdone, the bride was also arrested for public intoxication. Both of them spent the evening in Solano County Jail.

We are aware that the economy is not at its strongest right now, but seriously, wasn’t there an easier way to score a cheap room for the night? Here’s hoping the rest of their lives go more smoothly than the first 24 hours of their marriage.

Up, up and away: Man loses $12K engagement ring in helium balloon

As almost everyone has, I’ve done some dumb things in my time, and when I travel down Stupid Memory Lane, it’s never a pleasant journey. In fact, even now, I’m starting to feel lousy.

That’s why, boy, it’s always nice to learn about someone who has done something even more boneheaded than anything I’ve ever imagined to accomplish. Reuters reported this story just a few weeks ago and it makes me chuckle every time I think about it. I thought I’d share it here in case you missed it:

London resident Lefkos Hajji, 28, came up with an admittedly brilliant idea of putting an engagement ring inside a helium balloon. His thinking was that she could pop the balloon as he popped the question. And this was quite a ring — worth $12,000, and apparently we’re talking dollars and not pounds or euros.

So our friend Lefkos leaves the jewelry store with the engagement ring hidden in the balloon, intending to go see his girlfriend, Leanne, 26 years old.

Unfortunately, as soon as he left the shop, some wind — blast of a draft — swept through the city. Suddenly, the balloon slipped from Lefkos’ hand, and the next thing he knows, he’s watching the balloon — with the apparently uninsured $12,000 ring inside — drift upward. Moments later, it was far above the skyline.

“I felt like such a plonker,” Lefkos told Reuters. “It cost a fortune, and I knew my girlfriend would kill me.”

And so panicked and not wanting to die so young, Lefkos followed in his car, trying to chase after the balloon. He lost sight of it, however, and after two hours, he gave up. Then he told Leanne, who is reportedly not talking to him.

I like to shoot fast when creating images for clients, my reasoning is simple. My  clients are not models and not used to being posed and directed.  I try to keep things as simple as possable, shoot quickly, let them walk, talk and be themselves with just a small bit of direction and guidence. On my other sessions like my destination enagagement shoots, we have spent much time going over all the locations and outfit changes for the day and those are the shoots that take from 7-12 hours and turn a normal couple into super models for a day, but they are willing and prepared for it all.
