No rain storm or 60mph winds could stop this wedding! The Wedding Of Devon and Patrick January 4, 2008 January 4, 2008All I can say is, this was a wonderful wedding, full of love, fun and laughter. The weather however….in one word…AWFUL! This was the wedding of friends of our’s, Devon and Patrick. With two hundred guests invited I think only a few didn’t show up. The huge storm that has hit us here in Northern California was not going to stop Devon and Patrick from getting married, not even a blackout. We arrived 2 1/2 hours early to get all the formal, and family photos done ahead of time and a “Reveal” of the Bride and Groom. The catholic ceremony was only 30 minutes long! Wow, that was sweet, and having Devons Step-Father read scripture and pray over them was also very touching and emotional. You could tell that all these families were very close and that everyone at this event truly loved this couple and all had a great time once we were at the reception site in Pleasanton. Here are a handful of photographs we captured, there are one thousand total, but I’m still editing and wanting to at least post some images for their families and friends. I’ve only slept for three hours working in Photoshop this early I’m starting to see double, time for a rest stop. Click below to view some images in a slide show with music. Hi Randy,
As the MOB I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos! Thank you so much for your flexibility and professional skill! When the newlyweds come back, they will be thrilled with the pictures!
They were just all smiles……………….too sweet. Great photos and one of my favorites is of her and her father walking down the isle. Their looks say it all!
wow…you might as well have put a sail on your car to get there that day!
hey…when did you change your last name to Miles???
Great photos of a beautiful wedding, despite whatever the weather might have been! (I have yet to photograph an inclement weather wedding…)
RE: Yep I’ve had the D300 for about a month now; did two weddings with it and a few other events; so far so good! Just did a pretty extreme test tonight and blogged it…
Compared to my D200 and all the other Nikons I’ve ever shot with, it is quite an improvement, in every way. In fact it is almost weird because in most ways it actually obsoletes the fully-pro D2H and D2X. The 3-D focus tracking is nuts!
Compared to the 5D, if you expose perfectly etc. the D300 can easily match the high ISO noise. HOWEVER, FF and especially the 5D will always be the champion of high ISO DETAIL and SHARPNESS.
Some time in the next 365 days Nikon will slap a D3 sensor in a D300 and sell it for maybe $3-3.5 K. Also, I’m confident that within a few weeks we’ll see the 5D replacement which should also be a stunning camera, hopefully at $2.5-3 K. I’ve shot with the 40D a bunch and I must say it feels awesome and performs amazingly well, on par with the D300 I’d say.

30 minutes for a catholic service must be a record. I did a russian orthodox with the sermon repeated in song every few lines done in russian and english once. Thought i would never get out.
