Month: October 2007

  • The Wedding Season is Winding down…

Well, my last wedding for this year is Nov. 17, 2007 and most of my current work is going to be Holiday parties and family portraits. This year started out really slow, then it blossomed from clients referring me like crazy! Its true, getting raves from past and current customers is the best form of advertising and it also brings with it some of the finest clients as well.

With the economy being so up and down in Northern California and gas prices and everything else going through the roof, we decided NOT to raise our prices for next year (even though our costs are going up) but actually LOWER our rates to encourage Brides and Grooms to hire a professional photographer such as us with thirty years experience and not just settle for someone because they are cheaper with little or no experience.

For the next few months we’ll be posting very little do to the slow down, but will be posting some items of interest.

To all of you we wish the best for the coming year!

  • Im going to get flack from my DJ friends on this post…

the band I just love live music at any event. What DJ’s are charging these days you can actually now get a really good live band. Sure a DJ can play all the top hits you hear on the radio, but a LIVE band creates an atmosphere that generates excitiment like a live concert and there is nothing like it!

This shot is from a 50th surprize party held a week ago I attended and shot at. The guests stayed much longer due to the band being awsome!

  • Just Booked the California State Lottery for their Anniversary Party!

California LotteryWell you have winners and you have loosers with a lottery, at least this time I’m working to get back some of the money I’ve lost over the years with our Lottery…ha! They are celebrating an anniversary with about 400 of its employees here in Sacramento in November and rewarding them all with a wonderful party with my instant digital photos, dancing and a great dinner. I’ll have some photos to post at a later date.

Speaking of Holiday parties, the phones are finally ringing and thats a good thing. With all the mortgage problems, layoffs and money getting tighter companies are learning that you HAVE to keep up morale with your employees.

My next big party is a Black Tie affair on Nov. 3rd at the Mark Hopkins Hotel on Nob Hill in San Francisco,Ca

    Stay tuned………………

  • Today is my Birthday…51 years old…dang I’m old!

Well folks, you know what it’s like being a photographer, we hate having our own photo taken, soooo I have this image of a few of my favorite friends. I guess you could say I’m a little “Goofy”.

I can tell you this, I never thought I would even get to this point in my life or this age and yes its true the hair is grey, the feet hurt, the knees hurt and the back hurts. All this pain from doing what I love to do, and that’s shooting weddings and events for a living. We should get paid like pro football players get paid for all the lifelong injuries we get from being professional photographers!

Anyhow, I love all my Xanga friends and I am very blessed to have some of the greatest clients too. Thank you all for visiting from time to time and I look forward to many more years of shooting and blogging.

    God Bless!  Randy

  • Apples Anyone?

I’ve done engagement shoots now for almost 30 years and I love finding and shooting at new locations. This time my clients wanted to have there engagement photos done in “Apple Hill” California. Greg is 6’8″ and Kacey is around 5’6″ with heels so it was a task to pose these two at times, but as you can see they all came out well. Oh, and if any of you are ever thinking about speeding along our freeways here in California beware,  BIG GREG is one of our CHP officers!

Apple Hill is full of specialty ranches that grow all types of apples and have thousands of visitors every year visit. Each ranch offers all types of specialties from apple donuts, hot apple cider, apple…you name it! Apple Hill is on the way to Lake Tahoe off of Highway 50. Everyone should visit this area, its simply an amazing and beautiful spot to shoot at and also enjoy on a weekend. Here are some images from yesterdays four hour shoot, afterwards I treated my newlyweds to a wonderful feast at the “Claim Jumper Restaurant”, oh and of course we had to share a slice of their 14″ long chocolate cake to finish of the meal!
