  • Last nights Loooong wedding!

There were the getting ready photos, the zipper that wouldn’t zip up on the brides dress, the rush to get all the before pictures taken, the ceremony, the families, the tea ceremony, the Bride & Groom alone photos, then we rush to the dinner and the wedding party is introduced, followed by speech after speech…..ahhhh I’m so tired already, we were running nonstop for 4hrs, rushing to get all of the shots done in triple time so things would stay ontime…well we got it all! At the reception we sat down for only 5 minutes to have our vendor meal then it was back inside the ballroom for another 3 hours. I think I actually saw smoke coming off my shoe soles from all the running around at this wedding! ha!

Well, here are just some of the images I had time to post this morning before we head out today for another big wedding in the Bay Area. Enjoy!

Ya’ think they were having a good time?

  • Arden Hills Country Club Today

The beautiful Villa at Arden Hills has been a delight to photograph since its grand opening a few months ago and todays wedding is going to be a glorious celebration for Cheryl Fong and Erik Berkley and their families. I should have a few images up by very late this evening and then its off to sleep.

My Sunday wedding is in San Ramon at the beautiful Bridges Golf and Country Club for Gary Fong and Christina Honeycutt. The Bridges Golf Club has some of the most beautiful locations to photograph at and I know you are not going to want to miss seeing these images on Monday! We’re talking spectacular scenery, rolling hills, waterfalls, tunnels and fairways that are breathtaking. I should have some photos posted mid afternoon on Monday for viewing.

So far the past few years I have not had one bad experience with any of the children in my weddings. I think this has to do with great parenting and also that my brides are listening to me when I say the children should be between the ages of 4 and up.

They get bored at times during the ceremony but they all remember that the photographer has something special for them after they have there photos taken.

A great idea is always have some chocolate bars handy to hand out after the formals, makes the kids happy and wired for the rest of the event. A little trick someone taught me years ago when working with children is offer them a reward, only if its neccesary. It works.

  • Praying DOES work, we had clear skys and NO rain!

All the weather services predicted 60% chance of rain and rain showers throughout the day for my couples outdoor wedding. I don’t think so!

The people that predict the weather need to get a new job, because I know for fact that 99% of the time they end up being wrong. Last nights wedding, point taken. ha!  Here are just some of the photographs from our beautiful evening.with Tracy and Steve.

  • Outdoor evening wedding tonight & Rain…what to do?

    No Rain Delay

Its going to be cold and maybe even wet out, but we are having an outdoor

on the golf links wedding this evening at the award winning Whitney Oaks Country

Club tonight at 6pm. We do have a back up plan to hold the ceremony indoors, but

it just dosent have the beautiful view that the grounds have. I’m having my assistant bring

our theatrical portable spotlight tonight if its nots raining and use it to light up our couple for

all to see and also for the photographs. Its been dark and grey out since this morning and its

only going to get worse by the time we start the ceremony. One thing is for certain, is that I

will get great shots no matter what and I aim to please everyone even if it means getting a little wet.

My bride and groom are really sweet and so much fun to hang around with and theres almost nothing

I wouldn’t do for them or there families. So here we go, rain or shine its going to be showtime at 6pm.

Check back on Sunday to see what happens here on the blog!

  • Oakland Raiders Superbowl Champs, Girls, Golf, and fine food.

Blackhawk Country Club in Dublin, California 9-18-07 and this year we had sunshine, a cool breeze and lots of fun. If you are a Oakland Raiders fan then you would have loved this event. Some of the most famous players from Oakland Raider history attended the San Francisco Boyscouts of America Golf Classic.

Helping out with the registry and raffle and also the awards program was my good friend Randy Hahn who is the announcer on TV and Radio for the San Jose Sharks Hockey Team and the “Golf Angels” a professional group of beautiful women who help keep things moving along and also are not bad at flirting and getting these guys to buy raffle tickets…you know what I mean?! Ha!

Here are just some photos taken by myself and many others shot by my good friend Clark Woolsey who helped out last year too.

The last image is of our King(Groom) and Queen (Bride)

The Grand Island mansion in Courtland, California was transformed into a castle for this over the top elaborate wedding. The cost for 500 guests, entertainers, tents, horse and carriages, photographers, flowers and I can go on and on had to be well over a quarter of a Million dollars. Soon I will get a link from my friend Kevin Chin of San Francisco who shot the wedding so you can see his images. Kevin was all over the map, running from one part of the mansion to another.

Everyone was in costume, I was shooting onsite instant 5×7′s of each couple in the ballroom from 1pm-5:30pm then the party really exploded. A four course elegantly served meal on the gold carpeted tennis courts, more cocktails under a chandelier lit tent and a 8 piece dance band that took everyone into the evening until 10pm when all walked outside under the stars to watch a spectacular fireworks show.

I just love these small intimate weddings don’t you?! Ha!

  • Sunday at The Grand Island Mansion

    front_view_second-level_main_entrance.jpg

Today I was hired by a high end wedding coordinator

to photograph all 500 guests in 1920′s costume’s

for a themed wedding on the California Delta.

Together along with my friend Jere Visalli from

Sausilito, we will both be shooting from opposite sides

of the grand ballroom. the official wedding photographer

is an old friend of mine from San Francisco, Kevin Chin.

I’ll have some photos posted late this evening around 9pm, so come on back!

  • Yesturdays Christian Wedding

There is always something special about a true Christian ceremony. The words exchanged, the sounds of prayers outload that express the true feelings and the outpooring of love from the families and the guests.

Here are just some images from my Saturday wedding of Alicia and Thomas.

NOTE: This is another wedding that we chose not to use any flash at all, indoors or outdoors and the images came out beautifully. Thanks to Canon’s 5D cameras and their beautiful prime and zoom lenses.

  • Don’t we all sorta feel like doing this?

file005 Sometimes working all day and night on my computer, retouching and color correcting images for clients, I want to just say the heck with it all, Im going back to film!

But then again, with digital capture I can be an artist and my clients will love the results. Ah….oh…. back to work. Ha!
