The very first Digital Camera…
It all started in 1994 with the First ever digital SLR from Kodak. It was a monster and the cost was $10,000 I know, because I had one. Who knew that just 13 years later you could have a camera smaller than a pack of cards fit into your tee-shirt and get the same images for a fraction of the cost??!!
I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for all of us professional shooters.

Ah, I love seeing pics of those old Kodaks…
It’s a shame Kodak got driven out of the DSLR business due to their poor body designs that were bulky and clumsy, because the potential in their sensors was amazing… They were the only other manufacturer to make a full-frame DSLR other than Canon at that time, and apparently without an AA filter it was a resolution behemoth, although without an AA filter you often butcher certain cloths… If Kodak had been able to stay in the game, imagine what cameras they might have been able to come out with today…
The near future will indeed be exciting- Canon’s 5D upgrade will once again rock the socks off the wedding and portrait photography industry, and Nikon, well, ISO 25600, what the heck are they smoking? It’ll probably be a grainy mess given Nikon’s current reputation, but again it will make the near future pretty exciting…

that’s an actual camera? oh my gosh!
That’s very interesting… I myself don’t like the “smaller” is better trend.. maybe in weight, but still… I like being able to actually have a bit of something to hold onto while shooting, helps with stabilization of those hand held shots too.. And the shift towards not even having eye-pieces… that’s a darn shame and should be considered taboo.. but what can you do right.. And it will be exciting to see what the next 5 years holds for Digital Photography
