Digital SLR cameras have come a long way!
My First Digital SLR $20,000.00 Purchased in 1997
My 2nd camera $2200.00
My 3rd camera $2100.00
My 4th camera $1795.00
My 5th camera $3200.00
Right now the most expensive 35mm digital slr camera’s with the only full frame chip/sensor is Canon with their models 5D and the 1D S Mark 2 camera that boasts 16.8 megapixals retail for body only $8600.00.
I can’t wait to see what they come up with next out of Japan. These pro cameras I use are amazing they compare to a Porshe automobile as how they feel and handle in my hands when Im shooting. And myself like so many others only shoot with the best.

Yes a HUGE difference between the 20D and the 5D. You need to experience it. I shoot so much in low light and the last few weddings I shot I never used my flash at all! The full frame sensor is like nothing I have ever seen, its amazing!

wow! that is quite the collection.
:rolleyes: Oh I forget to mention when I left Canon after 25 years in 2006 and switched over to Nikon D2X cameras for one year only. They are awsome cameras and lenses, but the 5D by Canon is hands down a winner for wedding and portrait work!

20k on your first camera?
wow, it makes me feel cheap when I think about the $1200 I spent on my first an only(so far) DSLR
I was a Nikon guy for 20 years. I started with an NC 2000 which was 1.5 megs (1996?), and also had a DCS 410 which was only rated at ISO 100 and took a photo every 2.5 secs. I shot with that for three years!
I switched to Canon in August of 2005 and haven’t looked back since! I frequently shoot the 5D at ISO 3200 during the ceremony! I hear the Mark III will go to 6400! Technology changes fast doesn’t it? My N90 is sitting on the shelf in my studio with the rest of my antique camera collection!
