    crazy2 Gotcha!

Not Gary Fong the amazing creator of all of our photo gadgets,Los Angeles Photographer mutli millionair, but Gary Fong from San Francisco, California. I shot his sisters wedding, Angela about 10 years ago and now her little brother is all grown up and its his turn. His new wife looks like Jennifer Lopez, no joking! I have this June 30th booked for their San Francisco engagement shoot. Come back and see there photos late that night when I return.

  • Im on the road today…

Its 6am, time to feed all three of my maltese doggies , then its time to pack up my instant photo gear and leave around 8:30am to start my long day. First on the agenda are 10 headshots for my friends new mortagage company in Folsom, California then when thats finished Im off to San Francisco for a few head shots then to Daly City for a grand opening of a new senior center and dedication from 4-7pm with around 4000 people and who knows how many will want their photo taken?! • Family Portraits at what time??!!

    IMG_4305B IMG_4310sepia IMG_4300

How about 8am I said, they said perfect!  Total time to get to location & back to studio..30 minutes, total time with clients shooting 15 minutes, time on computer retouching 42 images, 30 minutes. Printing off proof sheets, bindery of proof book and CD burning 30 minutes.

Total time to create and deliver this job = 1hr. 25 minutes

Being able to get great kids photos is an art and a lot of work, but if you have the  personality and can shoot fast you can get those wonderful expressions in a really short time. A total of 7 poses, all came out beautifully, here are just a few of them I chose for the blog. Wedding photography is what I specialize in, but taking photos of little ones and their families for them to enjoy throughout their lifetime is even more rewarding!

  • hey Partner…what are your thoughts on Photoshop Actions?

    cowboys

Personally I Love the ease of so many of the action sets that are available to us as professionals. They have saved me hundreds of hours of time while retouching and creating my images. From the ordinary to the extraordinary our photographs become a work of art. There are some that teach seminars and hold class on selling you their way of creating actions, but thats a lot to remember. My favorite sets of actions are from Kevin Kubota out of Oregon. His stuff is as easy as a click of a button and wha-la! Its like using a microwave oven, it works fast and its done fast…on to the next one please.

Let me know what you use and like, I would love to get some reactions.

  • Weddings…the perfect time to create memories!

Grandpa So much is always going on with the Bride, the Groom and all the running around, that even I after almost thirty years shooting will miss out on some great shots. What I try to do these days is pace myself a little slower and look around more to see who all the players are in the wedding and family. I ask alot of questions prior to a couple booking me, and whenever I get a chance to grab and create a three generation shot, well its always going to be a favorite.

This image of this beautiful little girl with her Grandpa is just precious. One of the groomsmen told me to turn around. She was looking at her grandpa, all I did was say hey, look here…she hugged him for protection and I grabbed what will be a wonderful image for this family for generations. Its sweet, non posed…these just happen like magic.

So what I’m saying is be prepared and ready to fire off that special shot, you never know when its going to happen, but when it does…its like magic!
