  • Like a Timex watch, my 5D kept on running. Amazing !

Well after my Canon 5D camera hit the cement at 60mph and cracked open and parts flew everywhere, we tested to see if it would even turn on, yep.

We tried shooting with it even though the screen was messed up and broken. When I took out the card to see if the camera was even recording the info…it was! This camera was completely smashed, lens, flash and body.

At the end of the day after downloading every file I went back to check the camera….it was dead and non responsive. This was in fact an act of God. He kept that camera going for us until the very end.

Tell me now you don’t believe in miracles.

Here are some shots from the all new Arden Hills Country Club Chateau Mansion taken with my amazing smashed and broken Canon 5D!

  • nice!

    pics of broken 5d?

  • Oh my gosh, I just read about your wreck and your camera!!! Wow. Amazing it still works. That’s great!!!!!! We have a 5D and the 70-200 L lens too…between that and the 24-70 that’s all we really need for a wedding….even though we’re looking into buying a super-wide since our 10-22 is out of commission now that we’ve moved from the 20D to the 5D.

    Beautiful images – great work!

I just posted my most recent wedding album design: http://www.charlestonwedding.com/weddings/scioli/

Let me know what you think!

  • i’m so glad you were able to salvage the camera long enough for the wedding photos to come through….God is good indeed, ain’t He?

  • WOW, thank you! Your compliment means a whole lot to me, coming from you! :goodjob:

This particular wedding you just saw booked my $5k package…and I’m sure with their album upgrade (since I do predesigns) and parent album purchases, I’m sure to get at least 2k more since they’ve already spent most of their credit balance in engagement and bridal print purchases. Oh, and the bride’s dad is the owner of the country club where the reception was held…..so it was important to me to rock out this wedding b/c it means really solid future referrals from this very respected venue!

The other photgrapher I work with (technically I work “for” him) is truly amazing – and he and I combine our talents to constantly challenge each other to try new things, new poses, more creative designs, etc. He didn’t shoot any of this wedding with me, but I think the healthy in-house competition between the two of us really keeps each other on our toes. Speaking of which…I probably better get back to raw processing Saturday’s wedding! (It was at Middleton Place Plantation and WOW it was gorgeous!!!!)

  • Beautiful Randy! You were blessed! Did the bride know that your camera broke?

Great job!!! Everything is gorgeous! Love the window light in #4 and those stairs are rockin!

  • Amazing story!!!  So sorry about your equipment.  I would be DEVASTATED!!!  I’m so thankful that my camera is completely covered by the warrenty and that I had a second camera/photographer.
