I knew it was going to be a beautiful weekend, and I’m normally shooting weddings on weekends, so when I get the chance to go back and visit my old stomping ground, San Francisco, with my wife, we jump at the chance. Oh, and my wife loves the shopping in Union Square, they have everything there, clothes, shoes, jewelery…all of my money too! LOL!
We had lunch at the top of Macys at the Cheese Cake Factory. When you are through waiting almost an hour for a table, and finish up on one of their spectacular meals you have to work it off somehow. I told her to go shopping in Macys and I gave myself a 30 minute assignment to just capture a little of San Francisco right across the street at the Union Square Park. Each person has there own story, you’ll see street poor, millionaires, and cops sitting in their car afraid at times to get out because there are so many crazies out there. I captured just a small part of the city, a city that is so diverse with people as it is with all of the cultures too. Look at the faces and you will see what I mean. These are faces that visit San Francisco from all over the world, some are just visitors and others are residents. Its people watching at its best. The photo here is quite gripping as you see this poor homeless woman walking and carrying all of her possessions all in black except for her red scarf, the young couple in the background watching her walk by expresses it all. There is no sound with the 64 images, I wanted the viewer to just watch and take it all in.
