    Viva Las Vegas!

    vegas

Now this is an Engagement Shoot!

For hours I’ll be shooting, posing and running all over the Las Vegas strip with Erin and Chris creating images of the two of them in and around some of the most famous Hot Spots. There wedding isn’t until May 19th next year at Catta Verdera in Lincoln, but we wanted to get these done while the weather was just right.

We leave around noon on 10-2-06 and return at 10pm the same day. Be sure to come back the next day to see the web show and some of the photos. These ought to be spectacular.

  • They Like me, they really like me! LOL!

It happened like this…I get a email from this gal named Elisa and she tells me she’s been looking for me. EEK! What did I do now?! You see I shot her wedding 9 years ago and she and her husband Alex, now a Major in our US Army and their 4 year old son Tyler would love to have me shoot their family portrait. Wow, nine years ago and they both pretty much looked the same, me however not! Then I had brown hair, dark rimmed glasses, now I am almost all grey with wire rims and yes…weigh more too. I met them up in San Francisco and surprised them with our stretch limo to take them around and shoot the photos. Their little guy was just adorable and a big ham in front of the camera. Well, Major dad is going BACK to Iraq again, this time he’ll be away from all of his family for 15, count them 15 months. Please pray for his safety and also pray for his family while he is away serving our country. Here are a few images from this afternoon in San Francisco!

  • What Love is all about…

This afternoon from 3:30-5pm I had the pleasure of photographing another really cute couple from Roseville, Diana and Nathan. They’re having their wedding celebration at the Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, California and Diana wanted to have her engagement pictures taken there too. It was so much fun just taking our time and all of us creating ideas for pictures without all the rush of a wedding day. Here are a couple of photos from their shoot. Click below to watch their web show!

  • A Birthday Surprize!

Today my friend Mark Lydell surprised his wife Kerri for her Birthday by having me come on over and chauffeur them to the Roseville train station for a 2 day get-away for Kerri’s Birthday! She did’nt have a clue as where Mark was taking her and I was hinting about Hawaii. She hates to fly and wasn’t sure where we were going. Kerri noticed we were driving towards the train depot and started to feel so much better. We got there a little early so we drove around, went got some bakery goodies then came back and the train finally showed up.

They’ll be back from Reno Friday afternoon and hopefully have some of their own photos for us to see on their web BLOG at www.xanga.com/lydellphoto

  • Getting ready for this afternoons wedding

Its the big day for Briana and Jeremy!!!

I had some time this morning and my Bride and her girls were all getting ready close to my house so I surprised them and showed up with camera in hand to snap off some shots of them getting ready. Notice, always in hand STARBUCKS coffee and some snacks. Almost every wedding I do you will find the wedding party with something from Starbucks. I should have bought stock when I had the chance years ago, oh well. Please enjoy the fast made collage. Wedding is at 3pm, my web show should be up by 9pm for all to view tonight.

  • A Romantic San Francisco Day…

     dsc_0068DSC_0051

What a fun day I had with Andrea & Brian as we took our Limousine all over San Francisco. It was only 68 degrees out, sunny, cold and windy , and we all got wind burn, but who cares. After our photo shoot we had a great meal at The Hard Rock Cafe at Pier 39, I thought we all were going to explode, we were all so hungry and we ate to fast! They slept almost the entire way home while I drove us all back to Sacramento and our 103 degree weather!  Here are just some of the images from today’s shoot. . Let me know which one you like best.

  • Looking back at some images from this past year…

Just some photographs of my weddings from this past year so far…

I really miss some of these couples, they ranged from Dentist’s, Lawyers, Mortgage Brokers

and so many other occupations. You wait all those months to shoot their big day, and when its all over

and you’ve presented and delivered the finished album to them, I wonder how they’re all doing.

Once in a while I’ll run into a groom or a bride while shopping and they can’t stop telling me how much

they love looking at their album and how much they really love all the photographs I created for them.

This makes it all worth while for me and why I have loved being a wedding photographer for nearly Thirty years. I thank each and everyone of my couples, their families and God for allowing me to document these wonderful moments in there lives.

In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.

    IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I’d see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
And pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
That I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
And call you back for one more

If I knew it would be the last time
I’d hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
So I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
To stop and say “I love you,”
Instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I’m sure you’ll have so many more,
So I can let just this one slip away.

    For surely there’s always tomorrow
To make up for an oversight,
And we always get a second chance
    To make everything just right.

There will l always be another day
    To say “I love you,”
    And certainly there’s another chance
To say our “Anything I can do?”

But just in case I might be wrong,
And today is all I get,
I’d like to say how much I love you
And I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
    Young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
You get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you’re waiting for tomorrow,
    Why not do it today?
    For if tomorrow never comes,
    You’ll surely regret the day,

That you didn’t take that extra time
For a smile, a hug, or a kiss
And you were too busy to grant someone,
What turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
    And whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
And that you’ll always hold them dear

Take time to say “I’m sorry,”
“Please forgive me,” “Thank you,” or “It’s okay.”
    And if tomorrow never comes,
You’ll have no regrets about today.
