  • Weddings…the perfect time to create memories!

Grandpa So much is always going on with the Bride, the Groom and all the running around, that even I after almost thirty years shooting will miss out on some great shots. What I try to do these days is pace myself a little slower and look around more to see who all the players are in the wedding and family. I ask alot of questions prior to a couple booking me, and whenever I get a chance to grab and create a three generation shot, well its always going to be a favorite.

This image of this beautiful little girl with her Grandpa is just precious. One of the groomsmen told me to turn around. She was looking at her grandpa, all I did was say hey, look here…she hugged him for protection and I grabbed what will be a wonderful image for this family for generations. Its sweet, non posed…these just happen like magic.

So what I’m saying is be prepared and ready to fire off that special shot, you never know when its going to happen, but when it does…its like magic!

  • Wow, beautiful image – what a great shot!!!! I agree, when you get those shots, it’s really magical.

Shooting a wedding this weekend? Between me and my associate, we have 3 big weddings this weekend….but I’m shooting the largest one, so I’ll be covering the rehearsal/dinner tonight and the wedding for 8hrs tomorrow. Whew! But, I’m confident we’ll rock it out.

Check out my most recent engagement shoot – the slide show link is up. Do you know if I can post the Gary Fong album showcase straight on my Xanga? I wish I could….and I messed around with it for a little while but couldn’t get it to work. Oh well. Maybe one day. I know the ShowIt Web version (David Jay’s) can be put in blogs. Hmm…surely Fong’s can too?

  • aww… just precious…

  • So cute! So precious! You’ve captured care and love in the little girl’s face, and a glimmer of youth in the man’s eyes, I love it.

And lol, I wish I could be one of Scott’s shooters, but for now I’m just an admiring student… And yeah, I’m going to have to work my butt off to afford him! Of course I’ll still have a million friends at the wedding who are photographes and hopefully they can all peacefully co-exist lol… I will of cousre in-formally invite anyone I know closely through Xanga who would like to come and crash the party! I’d love to just hire everyone I know, and “import” you, Mark & Kerri and Junshien, but we’ll see where I am when the time comes. We might push it back to October ’08, partly so we can be a little more “on our feet” financially and partly to avoid the spring crowd at our potential honeymoon locations…
