  • Randy, I know this is a highly subjective area but I love the way it looks. That kind of border would go just perfect on a nice big canvas stretch-frame print, , and you wouldn’t be wasting all that extra space to wrap around the edges, the image would totally frame itself. Aaahh now I want to try it!!!

  • I don’t like that particular border, but I like a lot of them. Maybe that one would look good on a big canvas print, but not a small web pic. Overall, I like the interesting borders for some things, but not as an all the time thing. They are more eye-popping when used sparingly, imho.

  • Randy, I like sloppy borders, but like the others, not for every image. I don’t think that using them would be a USP for a business but they can help define a product style. I would be interested to know what you like to use for your sloppy borders. BTW, I like the one in this image. -Jeff

  • Hey Rando,

These were some of my first software about ten years ago and I still use them. I think you just have to use them sparingly in an Album layout so things don’t get too busy and you loose the impact of the image.

  • ryc: LOL – thanks for dropping by.

re: borders, i think it depends on the photo and what you’re using it for. most of the time i find them a little cheesy, this one is not too bad, i like simplicity.

  • This is an interesting one. I am not a big fan of the stylized borders. I guess I’m more traditional in a standard white boarder.

If the picture is going to be timeless I think it has to be traditional. I really think in 10 years these boarders will be out of style and date the pictures.

Just my .02 worth.  Now someone owes me change!

  • Hi Randy! Thanks for the birthday day! IT was alot of fun and actually wore me out… I need to work out more if we are going to head into wedding season!

Personally I have a couple of thoughts/feelings about borders. I like this one by the way and what you have here.

If it fits their personality then I would use them. If they are fun and full of personality and contemporary then I would use a few. If they give me a different vibe I might be less inclined…

I would not use too many even if I felt they would like them just because you dont want the album to be too trendy and dated. I agree with the above comments that you want to have a timeless album when all is said and done.
